Participatory and innovative activities

Thanks to the complementary nature of its missions and its diverse partnerships, the Cnesco provides a broad array of activities for the public. The Cnesco facilitates the development of six activity formats that ensure the effective dissemination of research findings to a wide audience.

A jury made up of members of the educational community discusses and formulates recommendations behind closed doors, drawing on the Cnesco’s scientific output and guided by presentations from researchers and experts during public sessions.

Topics covered: Grade retention and alternatives, Numbers and calculation in Elementary School, Reading literacy, Differentiated instructionWriting and Composing, Foreign language Learning.

French policy makers and supervisory staff convene for participatory workshops to formulate recommendations, drawing on the Cnesco’s scientific output and guided by presentations from researchers and experts during public sessions.

Topics covered: Social diversity at school, Inclusive school, Vocational education and training, Tackling school dropout, Guidance education, Professional development of education professionals, Educational policy governance, Well-being at school.

Consensus conferences and international comparison conferences epitomize the Cnesco method, all aiming for the same final goal: fostering transformative change by engaging stakeholders and enhancing the comprehension of research findings. They are complemented by four other activity formats:

The scientific resources and methodology established during consensus conferences conducted by the Cnesco, in collaboration with local or international partners, are shared to support a collective reflection, the creation of training programs and experimental measures in various regions.

Discussions between experts and grassroot stakeholders on various themes, both online and in person, are carried out to challenge the Cnesco’s recommendations and assess their implementation.
